Grievances

Concerns or complaints raised by or on behalf of employees can lead to conflict if not properly addressed. We advise clients how to deal with grievances raised by an employee, including advice on the grievance investigation process, grievance meetings and the appeals procedure.

Grievances can often include equality act complaints of whistleblowing, protected disclosures, discrimination or be a pre-cursor to an employment tribunal claim. Equality Act complaints can include maternity action, equal pay for equal work and harassment plus many more. We guide Human Resource departments how to respond or we advise the investigating officer what conclusions to reach.

Grievances can also involve complaints about terms and conditions of employment including shift work changes or complaints over pay. Sometimes grievances can be resolved through workplace employee mediation (either using ACAS or a private mediator). Ed and his team are experienced in judicial mediation, ACAS mediation and private mediations.
